I'm a multimedia artist specializing in Flash, QTVR, and 3D modeling, but my preferred title is aesthetic quality control. I have delivered my accumulated wisdom on such subjects as 3D Max, Flash, and photographic VR to the hordes who gather at the Consumer Electronics Show, Digital Media DC, NY Digital Video, the National Association of Broadcasters, and the IVRPA Summit Series. Formerly chair of the Media Arts and Animation and Game Design departments at The Art Institute of Washington, I now toil under my own banner -- www.conceptgirl.com. My projects have ranged from work on animations for Volkswagen to fingernail-constructed necklaces to a full-blown workout of my longstanding interest with retro rockets: Washington DC's new Rocket Bar (rocketbardc.com).
I'm an art school geek, with skins from Rhode Island School of Design and Savannah College of Art and Design.
My cred for blogging the Fest: After only 2 years of training, I've reached intermediate standing. I'm a spokesmodel for Safety Third. My work appeared on HBO's Real Sex(episode 18). My name's etched for eternity (or until a laser burns it off) on the leg of at least one boy….that I know of. I photographed and instigated stories for the characters in Alicia’s coverage of 2006 Jazz Fest for Metblogs. I have some southern roots, ya'll, so I'm good at sharing my beer, my blanket and long winded stories.
